dig into it 005: trips + teaching

I’m spending this rainy Sunday recovering from a busy couple of weeks with some much needed couch time. It’s hard for me to sit still and I often feel an amount of internalized guilt surrounding rest- a response that I’m desperately trying to reframe and heal within myself. Thank goodness for the voice of one of my mentors echoing “Rest is working”. It’s true and so needed. Despite traveling, illness, and a week full of Garden Party events that have left me jet-lagged, mostly voiceless, and tired, my cup feels incredibly full!

PHX/SCOTTSDALE

My husband and I recently traveled to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area for 5 days and it was so great to get away for a minute! I was admittedly sweating leaving the plants behind given our recent cold weather, but I dropped some hopes and prayers and off we went. This was technically a business trip for Ike but we got to spend a few days together before he had meetings. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve taken a true vacation so I am happy to spend any quality time I can with him that doesn’t involve our usually daily responsibilities. We enjoyed an evening at the Desert Botanical Gardens and then I spent hours at the Phoenix Art Museum and SMoCA while he was in meetings. I always leave a place feeling incredibly inspired when I can enjoy nature, art, and good food and this trip delivered.

Recap

I can’t be sure if I picked up a bug on our trip or if my sinuses just really hated going from 0 degrees and wet to 80, sunny, and dry but I’m now on day 9 of this annoying cough that has rendered me partially voiceless most of the week. That seems to always happen when I’ve got multiple events going that I’m required to speak at. sigh

I soldiered on and made it through (shoutout to microphones and David at Piedmont for making me Hot Toddies during Plant Bingo lol) but let’s hope whatever this is works itself out soon because I AM OVER IT. If you attended one of my events this past week, thank you so much! Lot’s of fun and learning was had by all and I so enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones!

Sold out Plant Bingo! So much fun and we’ll be doing this again soon.

Taught my second workshop at Southern Crescent to a great group! Failed to take a photo :/

Galentine’s Girls Night at Myrtle’s was so much fun! Sadly, I didn’t get a photo of all of our gals but it was a pleasure helping all of these lovely ladies make their bud vases.

This week at garden party:

This week I’m working on getting my next round of seeds started and supporting all of the plants that are finally starting to put on buds. HOORAY!

First cuts of 2026!

upcoming events + availability

As always, thank you for being apart of my journey!

xx,

Claire
